About Us

Our History and Mission at the Pharmacist 

 Jim Corkrean opened The Pharmacist on November 11th, 1991 with the goal of providing personal pharmaceutical services with compassion and kindness. Jim’s son Sean has worked with his father at the pharmacy since it opened when he was only seven years old. Ultimately, Sean followed in his father’s footsteps and achieved a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Charleston and returned home to continue working alongside his father.

Jim and Sean believe there is much more to the practice of pharmacy than just accurately and efficiently filling prescriptions. They believe pharmacy is a profession that requires uncompromising integrity and professionalism. Jim and Sean believe trust is the fundamental component in achieving the best health outcomes in patients. At The Pharmacist “we hope that the character in which we choose to practice pharmacy earns the trust of our patient’s and other healthcare professionals. We believe when patients, pharmacists and practitioners work as a team grounded in trust and open communication we give patients the greatest opportunity to achieve the highest quality health and wellness.”

As well as being a full service pharmacy, we also have a very unique boutique selection. Products have been carefully selected with our patients and customers in mind.  Our collection is made up of unique items that are thoughtfully produced by both large and small businesses around the globe. The items in our store include healthful foods and snacks, niche fragrances, skin care, exclusive men's care products and pet products.
